What are Varicose Veins & Their Symptoms?
Varicose veins typically manifest as enlarged, bulging, swollen cords just beneath the skin surface. Commonly appearing as dark blue or purple vessels, they tend to mostly affect legs and feet but can develop anywhere on your body. These raised and twisted blood vessels are usually larger than spider veins and often cause more considerable problems.
Patients with varicose veins often report leg heaviness, night cramps, burning sensation, itching, leg fatigue, edema, and restless legs. In many cases, this condition contributes to exercise intolerance. Although the onset of this condition may be gradual, subjective symptoms commonly appear to be more severe in the early stages of disease. Symptoms may be less severe in the middle phases but become more exacerbated with age.
Fortunately, the advanced treatment options offered by the Pacific Med Health Group provide effective and painless ways to eliminate varicose veins. Following treatment, most of our patients express surprise once they realize how much chronic discomfort they used to take for granted.
What are Spider Veins & Their Symptoms?
Compared to enlarged and bulging varicose veins, spider veins are generally smaller and not as painful. They commonly manifest as the web of red or blue veins that spread below the surface of the skin, becoming more prominent as we age. Like varicose veins, spider veins tend to develop in the legs, but they can also appear on the face, especially around nose or under the eyes.
